UH Away Game Festivities
We love Robertson Stadium. It's close, it's comfortable, and our Cougars have won a ton of games there. Simply put, it's home. But there's no better way to show your loyalty and passion for the Cougars than to pack up all that spirit and take it on the road.
For the 2010 football season, the UH Alumni Association is offering special hotel rates and will be planning pre-game festivities for the following games:
UCLA
Game Day:
September 18
@ the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA
Baccalaureate Bling: See Highlights from our Ring Ceremony
It don't mean a thing, if you ain't got that ring. Hundreds of students doo wopped that mantra at our spring semester ring ceremony, held May 6 at the Athletics/Alumni Center. New Alumni Association President & CEO Mike Pede ('89) and Chair of the UH System Board of Regents Welcome Wilson, Sr. ('49) commanded the podium and passed out the rings. Ruben Vasquez ('10) inspired the crowd as our student speaker.
The ceremony included explanation of the ring's symbols and some important protocol to remember. Until graduation, students should wear their ring with the interlocking UH facing inward. At commencement, rings are turned along with tassels. The UH will now face everyone you meet.
If you're thinking, "Man, I never got a ring and sure would like to be part of that tradition," voilà: order your ring now!
