Moores Jazz Festival This Weekend
Houston may not be New Orleans or Chicago when it comes to jazz music, but this weekend's Moores Jazz Festival should offer enough beboppin' and scattin' to make anyone need to "Take Five." Since the festival debuted in 1999, the University of Houston's Moores School of Music has brought top jazz musicians to campus for a weekend of concerts and clinics. This year's special guest is trumpter Brian Lynch. more

UH Superconductivity center receives $3.5 Million Grant
Screenshot of UH Guide iPhone appThe University of Houston's Texas Center for Superconductivity (TcSUH) recently received a $3.5million Research Superiority Award from the Texas Emerging Technology Fund (ETF). The funds will be distributed over a five-year period to help establish TcSUH's Applied Research Hub (TcSUH-ARH) and recruit researchers in superconductivity and related materials. more

women's basketball coach joe curl hospitalized

Coach SumlinUniversity of Houston women's basketball head coach Joe Curl was admitted to a Dallas area hospital this past Saturday (2/13) with chest pains. He remained in stable condition and his since been released. more
