uh iphone application
They’ve “got an app for that!” Four University of Houston computer science students have developed a free iPhone application that caters to the needs of the campus community and its visitors. The UH Guide, as it is called, is the product of coursework by Kaleb Fulgham, Andre Navarro, Nick Prescott, and Hussain Abbasi for their “Ubiquitous Computing” class. more

Coordinating board approves campus
construction projects
On December 15, 2009, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board approved a number of campus construction projects, including: stadium parking garage; phase 1 of a classroom facility for the Bauer College of Business; build out of the Science Engineering and Research Center (SERC); Moody Towers dining space renovation; Central Plant expansion; and purchase of property by UH-Victoria. more

Held the second Wednesday of every month at The Lot, the Cougar Power Hour offers all UH alumni the chance to connect with fellow graduates, catch up with old friends, and show our Cougar pride.  There is no cover, and as is the case at all UH alumni events, red attire is strongly encouraged. more

Coach Sumlin inks new deal
University of Houston Director of Athletics Mack Rhoades announced this week that the university has reached in principle a new contract for head football coach Kevin Sumlin. Pending approval by the UH Board of Regents, the new contract will run through the 2015 season. more

Football sets 2010 non-conference schedule
The University of Houston football program recently released its 2010 non-conference schedule, a slate headlined by three BCS schools. The Cougars will open the season against Texas State on September 4, travel to UCLA on September 18, host Mississippi State on October 9, and travel to Texas Tech on November 27. more
