On April 17, 2008 the Houston Alumni Organization will host host its 54th Awards Dinner. As always, it will be an incredible evening honoring an amazing group of alumni and friends of the university.
Nominations for the 2009 HAO awards will be accepted until 5 pm on September 15, 2008.
Distinguished Alumni Awards
Distinguished Alumni Awards are given to individuals who have distinguished themselves in their field of endeavor and whose accomplishments have brought credit to the university. Recipients must be graduates or former students with at least 12 hours completed. Just over 100 alumni have received this honor.
For over half a century, the Houston Alumni Organization has recognized excellence in the alumni of the University of Houston. Among the university’s 180,000 alumni are men and women who have distinguished themselves in many walks of life.
Distinguished Service Awards
Distinguished Service Awards are given to Life Members of HAO who have distinguished themselves through a history of significant volunteer service to further the mission of HAO and advance the university.
HAO Chair’s Award
The HAO Chair’s Award recognizes exemplary service to the university by non-alumni. These individuals are recognized for their generous contributions of time, talent, and resources.
Outstanding Volunteer Award
The Outstanding Volunteer Award recognizes and alumna or alumnus who exemplifies the spirit of volunteerism – giving generously of his or her time and talents to advance the mission of the Houston Alumni Organization.
